New Feature! Court Cases Added

The latest update to Issues & Controversies now features dozens of new, original, stand-alone articles summarizing key court cases on major issues in contemporary society. Most cover Supreme Court decisions, but lower court rulings are included as well. Each article explains the background of the case, the legal issues it raised, the court's decision, and its impact.
Court Cases can be accessed from selected main articles, from basic and advanced search, and from the new landing page linked to under the Resources drop-down.

New Integration! Share to Google Classroom

If you are using Google Classroom, you can now incorporate content from Issues & Controversies into your Classroom courses with the click of a button. The site's "Share" tools have been updated to include the new Share to Google Classroom option.

New Feature! Infographics Added

The latest update to Issues & Controversies includes more than 150 Infographics, presenting vast amounts of information in easy-to-access charts, graphs, and tables. This new content can be accessed via basic and advanced search, and selected offer links to relevant Infographics as well.

New Integration! Canvas LTI Now Available
(September 2017)
Canvas users can now embed content from Issues & Controversies directly into their courses. The LTI app provides a rich integration between Issues & Controversies and Canvas courses. Users of Canvas can embed Issues & Controversies resources directly inside their courses, without having to leave the LMS. This plugin is LTI based and integrates directly into the standard Canvas HTML editor.

New Integration! Schoology LTI Now Available
(September 2017)
Customers using the Schoology learning management system can embed content from Issues & Controversies directly into their courses. The LTI app provides a rich integration between Issues & Controversies and Schoology courses. Users of Schoology can embed Issues & Controversies resources directly into their courses, without having to leave the LMS. This plugin is LTI based and integrates directly into the standard Schoology HTML editor and the Add Materials menu within a course.

New Feature! NPR Audio Content

More than 100 editorially curated and selected National Public Radio (NPR) articles, audio recordings, and podcasts have been added to the site. Users can find the new audio content under the “Media” tab for selected articles on dozens of topics, and can also access it via search.

My Preferences

The latest update to Issues & Controversies
includes a new feature: "My Preferences." If you are signed into your user account, also known as a folder account, you can now set personal preferences that will apply to the site whenever you are signed in to your user account.
Personal account preferences can be set for: Default language and Default citation format. You can also sign up to have subject-specific Content Update emails sent to your own email address.

Download to PDF

The latest update to Issues & Controversies
includes a new feature: Download to PDF (Portable Document Format). Users can now download articles and other related materials such as chronologies as PDFs simply by clicking the download link found beneath the article's title. Users are given the option to include MLA or Chicago Manual of Style citations in the PDF.
